The first official time capsule was the Detroit Century Box, which was created on December 31, 1900 when the Mayor of Detroit, William C. Maybury buried a time capsule and scheduled to be opened 100 years later. In the capsule 56 prominent residents had left images, information and letters describing life in 1900 and making predictions and visions for the future.
This particular capsule is opened on December 31, 2000 by the city authorities and the whole act of the opening of the capsule was from great importance for the city and its people.
The project time capsule was started in 2016 with one single aim, to offer an open space in which you can seal and save your memories in a time capsule.
This project aims to offer a unique service by sealing your memories (in a time capsule which will be buried) within 5, 10, 15 or 25 (an option which you will choose) and taking care for the security of your memories and returning them from the capsule to you or to someone chosen by you. Тhe mission of this project is to simply provide the satisfaction of reliving your most cherished memories of life.
The design of the capsule is made of chrome plated stainless steel which is adapted and tested to withstand challenges or natural disasters that can happen over the years. Tests that have been conducted over the capsule have established durability of 178 years without damaging the interior of the capsule.
The capsule is vacuum packed. A special adapted hard drive is located in the interior of the capsule in order to keep your memories safe.
The location of the capsule will not be revealed for security reasons, but as a user you will get a video from the sealing and burying of the capsule.
The place where the capsule will be buried will be marked cemented place.
The care and maintenance in the technical part will be constant throughout the years until the excavation of the capsule.
IMPORTANT – You need to keep your unique code because it is the only way you can see your memories. See the full INSTRUCTIONS for how to use the code.
